Nintendo announced plans to introduce a new color variation, Metallic Red, to their successful Nintendo 3DS lineup. Coming out on 6/13, the system includes a 4GB SDHC memory card and has an MSRP of 15,000 yen (~$146.85).
There seems to be some confusion among fans as to what the difference is to the existing (and increasingly rare) Flare Red variant, and a side-by-side comparison reveals that the change is a minor one, though I prefer the predecessor’s sexy gradation:
